The Creation of Commercial and Industrial “ HUBS”
Industry and Commerce can form “Hubs” in locations that can help communities handle significant volumes of waste carbon, through which communities could also benefit financially.
Examples of where new HUB opportunities can develop by encouraging commercial and industrial activities around CLEAN CARBON Units:
Coal tips can reinvigorate past coal-producing areas such as South Wales (United Kingdom) clearing unsightly and dangerous tips, bringing work to the local community.
Pig, Cow, animal manures can be used to generate power and clean water creating opportunities for other agricultural activities including the local production of urea fertiliser
Ports and Harbours can gain a “green certification” by providing electricity to ships when in port by using their onboard waste along with contaminated seawater
Steel works can use the pollutants from its own and local plants to generate power and Green Hydrogen for fuel in Blast Furnaces.
By extension, this has the potential to counter extreme urbanisation and revive ailing small towns and villages. Almost all communities have carbon of some kind available to them in varying quantities, and the adaptability of this technology, specifically its fuel flexibility, would mean any settlement can host a “HUB” and benefit from the potential prosperity it offers.
